This may work in that people who have not worked for some time will be forced to do menial jobs, but will not give the skills needed to address the skills gap in the UK today.
Further, this is no more than a 'means' pardon the pun, of reducing the cost of looking after the unemployed, whilst doing nothing to control the greed of those at the top making huge profits at the expense of the poor.
