I understand that people have a choice of what music they would like played at their funeral is a free choice however, at the expense of taking away the choice of the Church to decide what should be played in Church?
Beside I would have thought in a society of free choice, it is up to the discretion of the Priest/Vicar what he/she is happy to have played in the Church?
If someone has no faith to begin with, why then choose to have a 'religious' service in a Church? Surely it can’t be the just in case factor?
The Church may be dwindling in numbers but those that remain at least want to be there.
Beside there are ‘Humanist burial services’ which uniquely meet these needs, which again give anyone of no religious faith a way of being buried and accommodates everyone so hopefully all are happy.
(from James: 1 V.19)Swift to hear, Slow to speak, Slow to wroth. (from Hebrews:11 V.1)Faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen.(Proverbs 15 V.22)Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established.
